Thursday, October 16, 2008: With many hotels seeing an average of 50% occupancy for the first nine months of the year, Pattaya hotel operators have predicted that full year figures will see a 20% dip in occupancy, reports a local paper.

Global hotel rates fall, except in Europe

September 24, 2007: Hotel rates rose by just 0.8% year-on-year on a global level in the second quarter of 2007, according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index, but in Europe year-on-year prices rose 5.2%. In contrast, there was a small rise of 0.6% in Asia, whilst prices in the US and the Rest of the World fell.
